Niamh Tumelty
Managing Director, LSE Press
Niamh Tumelty is Director of LSE Library, which includes the role of Managing Director of LSE Press. Her approach centres around the design of policy and services based on deep understanding of the needs of differing disciplines, and she has a particular interest in what open social science would look like if designed from this perspective. Prior to joining LSE, Niamh was Head of Open Research Services (Associate Director) at Cambridge University Libraries and a Fellow of Newnham College.
Beth Clark
Associate Director: Digital Scholarship and Innovation, LSE Library
Beth joined the Library in June 2016. Her team is responsible for service assessment and development, scholarly communications and research support and the Digital Library. This includes managing project teams, user experience (UX) research, the Library website and implementing developments in digital scholarship.
Philippa Grand
Head of Publishing, LSE Press
Philippa joined the LSE Press team in 2024. Before moving to the university press sector, Grand gained a PhD in modern British history from the University of Manchester, and spent 10 years at Palgrave Macmillan, rising to global editorial director for social sciences. She has spent the past two and a half years as press manager at University of Westminster Press, an open access university press publishing across the arts, humanities and social sciences. Alice Park
Managing Editor, LSE Press
Alice joined the LSE Press team in 2022. She has previously worked as an editor for LSE’s British Politics and Policy blog and for several publishers, including Rough Guides travel publishers. In 2018, she co-edited LSE Press’s first book, The UK’s Changing Democracy: the 2018 Democratic Audit. She manages LSE Press’s book programme, particularly developing new proposals and manuscripts. Elinor Potts
Communications Coordinator, LSE Press
Elinor joined the LSE Press in 2022 from Repeater Books where she managed marketing and communications, editing the Polari Prize-winning Deep Sniff: A History of Poppers and Queer Futures by Adam Zmith in 2021. She is an NCTJ-trained journalist and previously worked as a freelance writer, poetry editor, and senior bookseller for both independent and commercial retailers.
